Museum of Science and History to host Howloween Spooktacular

come back I’ve got here with me Carol Rhett Myers she’s here on behalf of the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History now we’re gonna talk about an event you guys have coming up this weekend before we do that though give me an update what’s going on at the Museum you know we’re really excited that the fronts of the museum have taken over the management of the museum the reason that’s exciting is that this is the first time in the history of the museum for the museum to be run by a not-for-profit it means all the funds everything we raise will go back to its purpose and that that happened like over the summer didn’t it I mean it’s just it’s just been a few months right well the decision was made but we didn’t take possession till October ok all right only wait 28 days into it yeah so Brandon brand-new all right now I’m thinking as you look ahead there are probably plans in place and things you would like to see happen there I mean you’ve been involved with the museum for a long long time now what are some of the things is you look down the road that that just kind of excite you the most well the idea to add more interaction you add more excitement is to update a lot of the exhibits that are there so where I left off last in 2016 I want to come back and really enhance the museum provide a greater experience or educational takeaway and more that wow factor we really want to make this museum the museum people talk about well although for the world it’s happening already I think it’s so great now let’s talk about what’s coming up Sunday it’s got to hear the Halloween spooktacular that’s a great great name for an event what’s that going to be about so that’s a family-friendly event everyone all ages to come we have all kinds of activities what science shows we have actors and different vignettes sure we’ll have history with a spooky sort of flair we have crafts and activities to make with a science meets spooky atmosphere so gummy worms will have slime I hear you’re making slime monster ooze okay things happening we’ll have a live magic show with magical science yeah in that walk the kids who show up are they allowed to dress up in costumes are you looking for that or yes come dressed in costumes we’ll have candy at all different areas that they can go trick or treat oh yeah have I said cake walks we have all kinds of interactive things that they can participate help hot dogs and popcorn so it’s a dual purpose here number one if you haven’t checked out the museum in a while this is a great reason to go do it number two if you’re looking for something fun for the family to do here this Halloween season the Halloween spooktacular happening Sunday afternoon from noon to five only one dollar and it’s only a dollar two and under get in free what a deal what a deal all right thank you Carol we appreciate it
